Emil Bernstorff
Emil Bernstorff is a young Anglo-Danish racing driver.
Emil started karting at Brooklands kart track at the age of 8 and his first competitive race was at the age of 10 at the nearby Sandown Park kart circuit in Esher, Surrey. A successful karting career followed where he secured two vice championships at national level before graduating to formula cars in 2010 competing in the MSA British Formula Ford Championship.
Emil quickly became one of the fastest formula Ford drivers setting no less than 6 fastest laps of which 2 were lap records and securing 3 podiums in the process, finishing an impressive 7th overall in this his rookie season.
He continued his impressive career as a rookie with a rookie team nearly winning the ADAC Formula Masters championship in 2011, only missing out on the title as his car stopped with an electrical failure 4 minutes from the checkered flag at the last race of the season.
A late opportunity arose to race with ma-con in the F3 Euroseries in 2012 and despite no pre-season testing Emil quickly learned to master the F3 car and secured 3 podium points finishes in his impressive rookie campaign.
In preparation for the 2013 F3 campaign Emil participated in and dominated the Formula Middle East Series, securing 4 Poles plus 6 wins & 6 fastest laps on his way to the championship title. The 2013 season continued on a high with 6 wins in the German F3 Championship and a Podium in the prestigious F3 Masters championship at Zandvoort.
Throughout the 2014 & 2015 seasons Emil was a serious contender for the GP3 Series title securing 3 race wins and 9 more podiums.
Coaching
Having driven almost every type of junior single seater, from Formula Ford to Formula 2 and accumulating 20 international race wins, 50 podiums against current F1 drivers and the like, I have a great understanding of driving a race car on the limit and I am happy to share my experience and insights.
I offer coaching at race weekends and test days as well as attending private simulator sessions. I can help a driver by:
- Analysing data and extracting the critical driving relevant points that a race engineer might miss
- Observing driving techniques trackside at key or problem corners
- Guiding drivers towards the most important techniques they individually need to focus on to become faster, better drivers
- Offering guidance at race weekends
… and more
Every driver is different, so if you are interested please contact me and we can discuss what would work best.
